Sometimes garments become favorites, not because of where they are from but who they are from. In this case, a full blue and white stripe skirt with silver trim that my mother wore folk dancing. Wearing it makes me feel closer to her, and ready to do some twirls. Do you have a garment passed down from a friend or family member that stirs your emotions when you wear it? I like to keep this skirt the star of the show, so I pair it with a simple black A-line tank from Nau, my black espadrilles from Viscata, and simple accessories. Perfect for a summer barbecue! I purchased this enamel pendant from Kiln Design Studios at a Christmas market years ago, while I was supposed to be shopping for gifts. Sometimes the best gifts you give to yourself!
These bangles were made by artisans in Africa. I found them at the fantastic website, Gather&See, an ethical online retailer that features sustainable fashion labels. I love espadrilles! These are artisan made in Spain, by maker Viscata. Super cute, and comfortable. All my shoes need to be made for walking!
